Runaway Bride Wants Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie for Biopic

DULUTH, Ga. - Runaway Bride Jennifer Wilbanks thinks Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, currently starring in the blockbuster "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," should portray her and her fiancee, John Mason, in the scheduled television movie of Wilbanks' life. Speaking from a Verizon pay phone in an AMC cineplex in her hometown, Duluth, Georgia, Wilbanks told NBC's Katie Couric that she had just seen "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" and that Pitt and Jolie would be "absolutely perfect" for the roles of Wilbanks and Mason.

"People always say how much Angelina resembles me," said Wilbanks, 32. "I even got that several times on a recent bus trip I took to Las Vegas. Of course, I'm a little taller and bustier than she is, but I'm sure she'll be able to work around that. As for Brad, if he put on eighty pounds, he'd be a dead ringer for my Johnny."

Wilbanks, who will appear on a prime-time special with Couric on June 21, thinks the story of her life should be "a cool romantic comedy, just like 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith.'

"Except for the parts where they shoot at one another, that movie reminded me so much of me and Johnny. The cool banter and the snappy comebacks were so us."

New York's ReganMedia acquired all rights to the "life stories" of Wilbanks and Mason for a reputed $500,000. Company president Judith Regan is the tough-talking former mistress of Bernard Kerik, the disgraced homeland security nominee who withdrew from consideration earlier this year after reporters had discovered he was conducting nine simultaneous extramarital affairs, one of them with former New York mayor Rudolph Giuliani.

"I am looking forward to developing the scripted project with Wilbanks and Mason," said Regan in a statement. "Theirs is an offbeat and compelling story of love and forgiveness that has certainly taught me a thing or two—though I wouldn't forgive that bastard Kerik if he were the last slaphead on Earth."

Wilbanks disappeared from her Duluth home on April 26, four days before her shamelessly extravagant wedding that boasted six hundred guests, twenty-eight attendants, and two thousand Peruvian butterflies. After taking a bus to Las Vegas and then to Albuquerque, N.M., Wilbanks phoned police claiming she had been abducted and sexually assaulted by "an Hispanic man who looked like Cheech (Marin)." She later recanted, though she still maintained that "an Hispanic man" had made "sucky noises" at her in the Albuquerque bus station.

Wilbanks pleaded no contest earlier this month to making an ass of herself and to supplying false statements to police. She was sentenced to two years' probation and 120 hours of community service, which she asked to serve in a Neiman Marcus store. Wilbanks had been arrested four times previously for shoplifting and once for public urination.

In other news, Jesus Christ told reporters yesterday that he will "rain down fire and brimstone on those money changers at eBay" if the image of the "bathtub Jesus" currently offered for sale on eBay is not taken down at once.
